Although predominantly made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Bucella also add smaller quantities of Merlot and Petit Verdot to add a touch of softness to the finished blend and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months before it is deemed ready for release. The attention to detail that goes into making this wine is characteristic of Bucella which was founded by Alicia and Bill Deem in 2002. The couple fell in love with Napa and Sonoma while on honeymoon and subsequently spent their vacations visiting local wineries before deciding to begin their own project. Today the couple have established a fantastic reputation for their top quality wines which are typically made with grapes sourced from a variety of appellations and terroirs to add complexity to the finished wine.
