Founded in 1994 by Sue and Greg White, Whitehaven Wine Company is based near Renwick in the Marlborough region of New Zealand and produces predominantly white wines. The grapes are sourced from several different vineyards throughout the Marlborough wine area, from the Wairau Valley in the north to Kekerengu further south. Here the climate enjoys climatic conditions characterized by strong diurnal temperature changes, which guarantee a long growing season. Furthermore, the presence of sandy and highly draining soils reduces the fertility and productivity of the vines, promoting the production of fruit with greater complexity.

Mansion House Bay is one of the ranges produced by Whitehaven Wines. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come predominantly from The Narrows vineyard in the upper Wairau Valley. The mechanical harvest takes place in the evening hours and the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts, to preserve the aromaticity of the vine.

The Mansion House Bay Sauvignon Blanc is a fragrant wine with aromas of stone fruit and green apple, grapefruit, and some herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is juicy and lively with an excellent concentration of fruit and a medium body. The fresh finish recalls citrusy aromas. The food pairing with goat cheese or asparagus is perfect. This wine also makes a great aperitif and works deliciously with seafood.
